May is truly an exciting time for so many of us: graduations, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day weekend get-togethers, the planning of summer fun … and a special time for our industry! Last week (May 12th-18th) marked National Senior Move Managers Week! As proud members of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM), this week was one in which we celebrated our ties to something bigger than ourselves and joined together in our mission of this year’s theme, ‘Service With Purpose’.
What exactly does ‘Service With Purpose’ mean, you may ask? This theme underscores the dedication, compassion, commitment, and unique skills Senior Move Managers® offer their clients and families throughout the downsizing, relocation or aging in place process. As stated by Mary Kay Buysse, NASMM’s Executive Director, “For adults who have lived in their homes for 30 or 40 years, it’s more than just a move. Most older adults making this type of transition need to downsize considerably. Senior Move Managers® have significant expertise, resources and approaches to save time, money, reduce stress and produce quality results. Services are client-centered and personalized to meet the client’s needs, providing an expertly managed, compassionate and affordable move.”
